Terms of use
Truvel is a free journey planner based in Edinburgh. By using it, you agree to these terms.
Check before you travel
Timetables, live times, fares, punctuality and change chances come from open data. They can be wrong or out of date. Punctuality and change chances describe how services ran on recent days. They aren't a promise of what will happen next time.
Check with the operator before you travel, especially for the last service of the day.
Fares
Fares are a guide. Truvel doesn't sell tickets, and the price you pay is set by the operator or ticket seller. Advance fares are shown as "from" a price, because we can't see how many seats are left at each price.
Walking and slopes
Walking slopes come from Ordnance Survey height data. They don't show steps, kerbs, lifts or temporary obstructions. The "gentle slopes" option isn't a guarantee of step-free access.
Alerts
Alerts are free with an account. Bus alerts work only for buses that are tracked live, and depend on operators' data, your phone and the services that deliver notifications, so an alert can be late or not arrive. Please don't rely on them alone for a bus you can't miss.
Keep your password to yourself and your email account secure, as anyone with access to it can reset your Truvel password. We may close accounts that are used to abuse the service.
Using Truvel
Please don't overload Truvel, copy its data in bulk or access it with automated tools. If you need transport data for your own app, use TransCAPI.
Links to other websites are there for convenience. We aren't responsible for those sites.
Our responsibility
We provide Truvel as it is, without guarantees. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for missed connections, extra travel costs or other losses from relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Independence
Truvel isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any transport operator, National Rail, Transport for London or the Department for Transport.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version.
